My husband and I recently moved from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, and we now live a short distance from Raleigh. My service area includes south-central, Pennsylvania as well as the Triangle area and Southern Pines, NC.
Often, when a client calls to schedule a massage appointment, they'll ask if I charge an additional fee for specific techniques. My answer is always "No, absolutely not." I customize each session based on what works well for you that particular day. Your shoulders may need some deep tissue massage, your lower back and your hips may need some trigger point therapy and a few "Sports Massage" techniques may work really well for your legs. Other days, you may just need a full body Swedish massage, or the opposite, full body deep tissue work, to help relieve the stress of a hectic week.
We'll talk before each session, I'll check in with you once or twice during your massage and adjust the technique and the amount of massage pressure according to your preference and the way your body responds. If you have questions about a particular technique that you may have heard about, or that perhaps worked well for you in the past, please don't hesitate to contact me!
I often work with clients who are recovering from injuries, recuperating from surgery (joint replacements for example) or who are working with a Physical Therapist or otherwise under a Doctor's care. In certain instances, a Physician's approval is required before scheduling massage. Again, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
I use high quality, and often organic, coconut or almond oil for each session. I also incorporate therapeutic essential oils for those who enjoy aromatherapy. Unscented oils are also available for anyone who has a sensitivity to a particular scent or ingredient.
Having happily spent over 20 years offering massage therapy and various wellness modalities to horses (and other animals) of numerous backgrounds and disciplines, I could literally talk for hours about the results I've witnessed. That being said, I am not a Veterinarian and the services I offer in no way take the place of veterinary medicine.
Most of the work I do is a combination of massage therapy and Magnawave /PEMF. I've found that the two work beautifully together to provide a very relaxing, yet thoroughly rejuvenating experience.
Massage and/or Magnawave can often provide drug free pain relief from strains, sprains, saddle fit issues, fatigue from over work and strenuous training, long hours in the trailer, arthritic conditions, laminitis, Lyme disease, and much more.
Over the years, I've worked with countless numbers of horses. Some quite famous, others from very humble backgrounds, but I address all with the same care and devotion. Each of those animals have their own set of circumstances. Regardless of those differences in background, there are inherent similarities in all horses...just like people, they each have their own preferences. And when you take the time to listen, they are excellent communicators! They really do tell you what they need, emotionally and physically. Similar to my work with human clients, I adjust my massage technique according to each horse's response and how the soft tissue itself responds.
There is of course no placebo effect for a horse, or for any animal. And yes, they absolutely do respond to touch and intention. Animals have all the same aches and pains that humans have. Strains, sprains, stiff, achy, sore, over worked muscles..., injured tendons and ligaments, lymphatic issues, cellular inflammation...all of those things and countless others can be addressed in a positive way by improving the health of the surrounding tissue. Massage and Magnawave are invaluable
tools in aiding or assisting the body in healing itself.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss any wellness concerns you have with your horse, companion animal or farm animal. I am happy to consult with your Veterinarian, Blacksmith, Dentist, Saddle Fitter, or other wellness professionals.
